I don't mean to insult anybody, but is he actually doing anything in the video other than masterfully finicking with the turn tables and knobs? All of the "effects" seem to be part of the song. Again, no offense to anybody. |

actually he is doing a lot more than that this is just a clip, Eddie very well known for one he's scratching and 2 messing w/ the tracks and your head, he knows how to control the flow of a set,and just put together a great show, you cant just look at his hands you need to look at the whole picture, if you see him live you will understand what i mean, he puts together an AMAZING show! controls the flow, messes with your head and all that not just scratches and messes around with FX
in other words he knows ho to deliver the punch line and when to do it
its like a comedian, he say a funny joke but of its not at the right time, in the right context you might giggle a bit but if its done right you'll be laughing like there is no tomorrow :D |

i'm sure he's great at that, i haven't really heard him but i've heard nothing but great things. but the point im making is in the video, hes scratching the turntables and messing with the knobs....is that really doing anything?
other DJ's do this too, I saw sander van doorn at code 2 weeks ago and i was right in front and i noticed him "turning knobs", but he wasn't actually turning anything.
i guess they are 'performing' too when they are up there. |

| Not that anyone cares, but I meet supposedly one of the Djs that is gonna either open/close or play in one of the rooms at Circus. I didn't even catch his name, but it was at the deeper moods vs. droid underground. I laughed when he said it was promoted by Hands UPs LA.. I thought to myself.. I thought it was HULA Electric Holiday, as in, like a Hula hoop..inspired by Malia's lightup hula hoop. hilarious! |

well thats what DJing is turnign the knobsb add FX or it turns off and on the low mids and highs (base, vocals ect) and thats what you use to mix the 2 tracks on your mixer, plus their a lot more to it they need to beat match as well so it sounds goods, trust me djign is a lot mor ethan turning knobs lol |

oh im saying sander pretended as if he was turning a knob, but he didnt do anything at all. i was like 1 ft away from him so i saw it lol. |

| yes i know what u mean unfortunately sometimes Djs do that, especially if its a HUGE concert :/ and dont want to mess up, but Eddie Halliwell is not like that this guy actually mixes i been on stage right next to him at EDC ect and i'v seen it with my own eyes the guy actually mixes, that's what he's so famous for his mixing is impressive! |

I have to credit Madd Matt Harris for turning me on to the use of "son." He said it every other word and still does I believe.
