my god... i'm going to do everything I can to make sure my wife doesn't see this preview or know about the movie while its in theaters. that looks like a ing nightmare to get dragged into as a guy.

Yeah except the road will be a great movie. It post disaster film and deals more with the horrors that would come within yourself and surviving. IS there a need for hope when there is none. Leading into the question of why, why try. The Road, is also based of a great novel. Extremely dark. 2012 is just a movie with overdone budget in special fx to try to cover the ty plot line or the characters within. just my .02
Also one is R, one is Pg-13. One is set more for teens n families and another is meant for adults.
Here is a good film, or at least I expect it to be.

2012 looks so poorly acted, I get the sense that the actors are embarrassed by the silliness of it but probably want the enormous money that the movie will surely make. Having to mime for all of that CGI action probably has something to do with it as well. And the CGI doesn't even look that great. Does it remind anyone else of the kind of special effects you see in fancy car commercials?
I saw the preview with the scene where the monk is watching the flood go over the mountains, which looked pretty cool, but this new preview has me thinking I will give this a miss.

I don't like how everything looks so clean. If that was really going down, there'd be so much dust and dirt in the air that you probably wouldn't be able to see half of what is going on.
But I guess you don't watch movies like 2012 for realism.
