Does Shogun have a chance against Machida? Yes, but not a good chance. I just don't see anybody beating Machida right now.

Heavyweight bout: Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell
Lightweight bout: Gleison Tibau vs. Josh Neer
Lightweight bout: Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher
Welterweight bout: Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida

Spike TV card
Heavyweight bout: Antoni Hardonk vs. Patrick Barry
Light Heavyweight bout: Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer

Preliminary card

Middleweight bout: Jorge Rivera vs. Rob Kimmons

I'd say that's about right. My preliminary thoughts on the rest of the cards are as follows:

Neither Rothwell nor Velasquez has shown great finishing power, so I expect a decision that goes to Velasquez on the strength of his superior wrestling and cardio.

Tibau is a replacement for Sherk; I don't know if he got a full training camp. Even if he did, he'd have his hands full with Neer. Neer by decision.

Stevenson versus Fisher is pretty hard to call. Fisher got a gift decision against Uno, so I'm going to go with some karma here and say Fisher loses a close and contentious decision.

Anthony Johnson should handle Yoshida standing, but if it goes to the ground he better watch himself. I've got Johnson by KO -- he's a better knockout artist than Koscheck.

Hardonk should beat Barry, but if he decides to kickbox with him it could go poorly. I've got Hardonk by submission.

This is another yet another tune-up fight for Bader. Eric Schafer has some decent BJJ but that's about it; now that's facing someone who can defend against his ground game, he's probably out of luck. Bader by TKO.

Okami is a better fighter than Sonnen, but stylistically this could be a tough matchup for him due to Sonnen's great wrestling. I've got Sonnen by decision.

Jorge Rivera is never going to amount to anything, but he should be able to beat Rob Kimmons, who doesn't really belong in the UFC. Rivera by decision.

Al-Hassan looked like he didn't belong in the cage against Steve Cantwell. Kingsbury is no Cantwell, but he should be able to pull this one out either by submission or decision.

Gormley should have no real problems taking the lanky Struve to the mat, where he can either pound on him to a unanimous decision or maybe snag a submission.

i was really hoping they'd put the Johnson card on spike, i think Johnson is going to be one of the greats in the welterweight!

I bet on Shogun. Not because I think he will definitely win, but because the line was +475 when I bet.

Ima make it rain if he does win!

Just to double check, can I make it rain with $47.50?

get it exchanged for Yen or Pesos and yes, you'll have a lot more rain to work with

machida will destroy shogun epically. maybe not as easy for a fight as we think and it might last long but i have no doubt he'll dispose of him with a devestating K.O.

shogun just doesn't have the stamina to last as long as Machida can wait. the moment shogun shows an ounce of tiredness chasing Machida around its over

Heading out to catch this soon. Machida is my pick. Fun to watch too. My friend that owns the bar called me and said
there are supposed to be a few guys partying at the bar after the fight. Josh Neer,Spencer Fisher and I think he said Rothwell. I forgot it was a local fight.
