What's he like as a DJ? He's playing near me soon and I'm probably going to go, but I'd like a rough idea of what kind of stuff he'll drop. Solarstone are playing before him too, which I'm a bit uncertain about. I don't want any unicorn .
PezCore
best dj you could see live, if you like trancey progressive psy trance
ReclusNdangrmnt
Solarstone has a pretty nice prog sound, I think. This is the tracklist for his most recent radio show/podcast.

thats a double win right there.joof is worth it for sure!never dissapointed evry time i see him.id go just to hear solarstone play solarcoaster. "your so cool, your so cool, your so cool"

He plays tunes that not many other djs plays. That's how I would desccribe him. He is at his best when he opens up with some dark progressive house and picks up the tempo with more trance oriented material and then end with psytrance.
He's also a very good dj mixing wise. Rarely seen him do a bad transition. Which is damn good considoring that he often plays a mixture of stuff.

Whoop. I am going to this night.

Solarstone will start off proggy and will probably get a little bit unicorn towards the end when he may throw in a few classic bootlegs. Last year he was playing Solarcoaster & Synaesthesia.

J00F I've never seen before, but I expect it will be like Global Trance Grooves. Proggy-psy and then turbo mix!

Jon O'Bir is playing too.

I'm going to this night too - absolutely can't wait.
Fleming is by far my favourite DJ. I would describe him in one word as 'serious', which you just don't get with many other trance (or psy trance) DJs, in my opinion.

Off The Rails in Sheffield? I'm glad some knowledgable people are going. It's at The Plug, and when I saw Sasha there back in June it was full of northern meat-heads and their stroppy girlfriends who didn't really have a clue what was happening with the music.

If it's likely to be a clued-up crowd I'm definitely going.

I say go. It's tough to say what J00F will play; all depends on timing, vibe and venue. I'm with Rebel on this one, he's best when he goes dark prog-trance-psy, but lately alot of the reviews have been swinging towards the psy spectrum than anything else. I've seen him 6 times, rarely disappointed and definetely not any unicorn stuff.

imo the best dj out there atm, as he is true to himself and what he loves. never sellout himself or the label, always great track selection and great mixing skillz. never experienced him live though but i have alot of his sets on my computer.

One of the great things about J00F is he always seems to create a really electric atmosphere. I would have never put the general Turnmills/Gallery punter as particularly knowledgeable but he always created a really great vibe whenever I saw him there.

I think one of the great things about John is that he is really passionate about the music he is playing, and it comes across too.

Solarstone could be a bit gay, but thatll just make J00F stand out more :)

+1 with that.

I've seen him 3 times , the last one being at Tomorrowland this summer.
He was playing 90% psytrance every time.
Even I'm not a huge psy fan, I've enjoyed his sets a lot. Believe me , his sets make you dance non-stop, almost no breakdowns, the flow is excellent and the mixing is always spot on.
There is a downside imo, sometimes I think it lacks of some nuance, subtlety and his sets are going too fast into psytrance mode.

As some others said, it's when he starts with some dark prog and progpsy tracks and builds slower his sets that he's at his best.
