These guys have been around for many, many years and I highly, highly respect them. Having Paul Oakenfold as one of your biggest fans cannot be a bad thing. Their DJ skills are just as good as their production skills...

The man himself gives Solarstone a pretty good write-up. Although the Oakenfold bit doesn't really carry much weight these days! |

| To be fair, that was five years ago. |

back then they were still famous for their respectable stuff on Hooj. Before they went solo and turned to cheese such as the rain stars eternal album. Horrendous cheesy stuff. |

| It's not really them so much as it is he now. I enjoyed the Solaris Architecture album, but his solo productions are pretty damn awful since the split. |

I hope ya'll keep this thread going with reviews of how the show goes and such. I've never heard a JOOF set or even detailed reviews on one.
If some one would be so kind as to post a classic or recent set by the dj in question i'd appreciate it. |

I saw him 3rd October when he came to Auckland.
The last time he came was a couple of years ago but the venue backed out last minute and didn't play so i was more than ready for his return.
He play at Godskitchen and was on at 330 to 5 after Cosmic Gate so got straight into the Psy.
It was great timing as everyone was ready to take it up a notch.
He played some Wizzy Noise, 00.db and ended with "Deeply Disturbed" and "Becoming Insane".
Lots or rolling basslines and and immense amount of acid
I really enjoyed it. |

Rain Stars Eternal is a GREAT album.
But then again, this forum loves downtempo minimal jungle techno , so what do they know? |
Nobody is remotely interested in your opinion. |

| I am finding it difficult to imagine what "downtempo minimal jungle techno" would sound like. |

Better than Solarstone's last album, I'd wager.
I guess you could write a minimal techno track with lots of pads and atmospherics at about 90bpm, and then add a bunch of double-tempo breakbeats over the top. You should give it a go, actually. |

It's 120 BPM Minimal Track with a techno mainlead and a cowbell. |
