EDITED: insults to Echosystem removed. My apologies.

I do mixdown entirely in Live at times. Summing is nosy but there are workarounds. Like you put a reverb on the master channel and put the mix to 100% it makes everything sound so great at output!!! ROFL.

Simply "X producer uses Ableton" does not say much anymore. If producers use Abelton, the question is to what extent do they use Ableton's features?

Do they incorporate outboard processing, are the sounds coming from synths? Is an analogue mixer doing the summing, or Ableton handling it? The variables and sound quality are different for every Producer, depending on what they are using alongside it and their skill.

Why is the summing noisy out of curiosity?

It is developed for Live use, so they had to make a compromise...

I definitely don't qualify as a "trance pro" and I only recently started using Live 8 a few months ago, but my biggest complaint about it for mixing is the lack of a dedicated console view. That's not really meant to be a knock against Live, because there's no denying that it does what it does better than anything else on the market and is not really designed to be a mixing environment, but I'm just used to a different mixing workflow after using hardware consoles and Sonar and Cubase for so long. Live just isn't as flexible, has pretty poor bussing capabilities, etc. compared to a "proper" console.
