Laptop issue. need help.

| Basically my laptop starts up, goes to the screen where it asks you to start Windows normally. I choose that option, a blue screen appears very quickly, the windows xp screen shows up (the one with the scrolling blue line) and then it restarts and repeats. I can't even log into safe mode. does the same thing. windows is claiming that a recent change in hardware or software. I havent' changed anything, however my sis recently downloaded some spam onto it. any help? thanks. |

Microshaft just sent down a Windows update. I had your problem too during the last update a couple months ago.
On another PC, I started a life chat with a microshaft techie. After fiddlin around, techie called me back... fiddled some more. Escalated to senior guy. Called me back... deleted some files that stucks the update, restarts, updates, problem solved.
Most interesting observation I had: They never asked me for my COA or any POP |

Doesn't have to do with updates dude. an I am running windows xp on my laptop. |

probably won't work but worth a shot. take out the battery leave it for a short while and try again.
if that doesn't work I think theres a system recovery option from the safe mode screen "f8 screen" |

I had a similar problem with my PC a few years ago. Windows was continuously looping. It started out happening once in a while, then suddenly it kept doing it and windows would never load.
I'm not sure what the source of the problem was. The service tech wanted to charge me a couple hundred to fix it. I decided to do my own self-fix. I bought a new hard drive, removed my old one, re-loaded windows on my new one (with a different copy than my original disc) then plugged my old hard drive in as a secondary drive. It never did it again.

The easiest way to fix this for YOU, would be a repair install. All your programs and settings will still be there once you finish, this just replaces system files with fresh ones.
It's the easiest fix for you to do yourself, and this will most likely fix your problem.

There's other things you can try first that would probably fix your problem faster, but there's no point in going into details about them here. |
