Certain tracks are classics for a reason. Those aren't forgotten today and I highly doubt that Leftfield or Orbital would be completely forgotten in another 15-20 years.
Can't say that about modern trance though.

The '99 'classics' will always be remembered because thats when EDM was at its peak. Its changed since then, as we all know. So those tracks wont be forgotten.
What will happen is that tracks produced after that will get forgotton, cos they're neither classics nor new material.

^^^ the tracks from the Oakenfold essential mixes is what i consider classics. but how many people (outside TA) took the time to look at the tracklist. most of the will surely be forgotten. the more popular tracks of more popular atriests will be rembered such as...
