Erm, no. In a closed headphone, sound waves from the driver are trapped inside the cup. Thus, they bounce around and interfere with other waves. The end result is a sound. Closed headphones are only meant to be used where you need high isolation (DJing). For general listening, this is fatiguing because we are not used to hearing such highly isolated sound without room ambiance.
Open/semiopen are superior for general listening. Also, you're a moron who's just trying to stand up for the crap headphones he already bought, lulz. I, on the other hand, have 2 pairs of open headphones and 1 pair of closed headphones. Who is less biased? Yeah, you fail. ;)
Go sit in the corner son, the men are talking.
Meat187: Kgo open/semiopen. As usual, very few people (Fledz, Egos) actually know what they are talking about in this thread. Everyone else is just trying to justify what they bought themselves and can't handle the fact that they bought a crap product. |

some will disagree, and some will agree with that statement |

Well of course some people will disagree, but that is because some people are dumbasses. :) |

| I have a pair of semi-open and a pair of closed, I think the semi-open are better for long-term listening. My ears used to get fatigued on the closed ones a lot more easily and I didn't find them as accurate for production (not that that's relevant for Meat187, just saying). |

| Okay guys I have a quick question, I am thinking of getting the Ultrasone 900s but was wondering if I would need a portable amp to power them, or will my laptop and zune be enough |

why the would you buy closed headphones for casual listening...
get the sennheiser cx300, tried, tested and the design is simple. + the price isn't bad for what you get.
I told myself if I were to buy ipod earphones again I would just keep buying the cx300
btw: I use a sennheiser hd 25 mkII for DJing and use AKG for iPod listening since I have other priorities at the moment rather than buying earphones. |

Apparently Creative EP630 are pretty much the same. Same factory, same components. Only difference is the CX300s are all quality checked to conform to Sennheiser specs..
This article on ebay about how to spot fake sennheisers, quotes an email from Sennheiser that seems to imply that Creative sells the same product:

I've heard bad things about them like poor quality. Best to stick with the Sennies.| quote: | Originally posted by TranceOwnsLol

He didn't ask for in-ears though, he wants actual headphones. I was responding to the other guy. |
