Im pretty happy with my decision not to get the swine flu shot... (pg. 5)

Millions of vaccinations are ordered and millions of high-risk Canadians are inoculated. The pandemic doesn't happen, and foolish reporters call pandemic a dud.

Pardon?

Government has to make an early decision whether or not to inoculate population against PANDEMIC FLU OUTBREAK early enough so that MANUFACUTRING CAPACITY can be ramped (this stuff doesn't just fall out of the sky) to meet IMMEDIATE demand. Foolish reporters call decision fiscally irresponsible.

Pardon?

I bet the hardest decision Jayx1 has to make every day is blue or red sprinkles on his morning doughnut.

Had this pandemic flu outbreak actually started hammering the population, Jayx1 would be complaining the government hadn't acted early enough given the warnings, and that all non-essential medical treatments should be suspended in order to deal with the outbreak.

But hey, it's all so God dammed simple.

not saying there is nec anything wrong with the shot. To me even a small risk is not worth it to avoid a flu. we simply dont know the long term risks involved with something like this. Id rather prevent cancer or something with a vaccine rather than a flu. I still think the swine flu was hyped up for financial reasons more than anything else. And im glad i didnt get it :)

You realize there has been minimal long-term research done for the HPV vaccine, too, right? Initially testing wasn't even done on populations outside of girls in their preteens.

if so i wouldnt recommend that vaccine either. But at least the premise is better (preventing cancer) than stopping what amounts to a common flu.

im very happy that i got my h1n1 AND regular flu vaccine.
no problems here (like the rest of the 99.7% of people that got the shot).

there should've been an anti-jayx1 conception vaccine.

Since most canadians still havnt received this shot your point is without merit. The government is not entirely to blame for this although there is definitely a lot of self interest in this for them. Unfortunately a lot of them have been duped as well.

One last thing... no need for the personal attacks just because we disagree on something.

its very unbecoming.

Oh, I didn't realize you had special knowledge that gives you the authority to make such recommendations. You've studied bioethics and the Canada Health Act extensively, I presume?

you are the one that suggested that it wasnt tested extensively. I simply responded to that statement.

I ask the same questions of you?

;)

I'm studying both right now. The point is that your understanding of this issue is lacking depth and breadth, because you seem to think it's as simple as one premise being more important than another. Based on what, exactly? Just because you think so?

it doesnt take a scientist to figure out that cancer is much deadlier than the flu.
