I STILL don't know the exact pronounciation of Ibiza
Is it EYE-bee-ZA or EEE-bee-ZA?
Flec
actually i THINK its 'ibitha'

like the z is pronounced with a TH like... wiTH
starglider
Yeah, it's EE-bee-THA. Lange would be pronounced with a soft G, but without the emphasis on the E at the end. It shouldn't rhyme with bungee, that radio jock must've been cracked or something. :p

I believe Ibiza is pronounced

EEEEE-bEEEEE-zaaahhhhhh

lol...i watch wild on with brooke burke wayyyy too much:rolleyes:

Ok, what about Neve Cambpell? Her first name, is it Neeve or Nev?

Ibiza:

Pronounced EE-BEE-za or EE-BITZ-ah if you're a liguistically uneducated American or English bloke.

The proper and native way to pronounce it is as you would in Castillian Spanish: EE-BEE-tha. You have to pronounce the Z as 'TH' and hiss slightly with your tongue against your top teeth.

Not sure about the other pronunciations, but I know this because I took a few years of Spanish and have been to the country twice. ;) Sadly not to Ibiza, but to the mainland.

Benno de Goeij..

Is it Go-E or Go-I? The J is silent of course, right? :nervous:

LOL this one i know because i talked with Benno thru emails last year a couple times...so i asked him

Benno HIMSELF said his last name would soud like the word GOOEY, like if something is gooey...like gum or something of the sort...

but of course with a B and not a G...

There's a footballer down here with the same surname, and his is pronounced "Lang" (hard G). Dunno if this Lange pronounces his name the same way though.

I've always said Lange as LAHNGE, in sort of a French pronunciation. It sounds more chilled that way, which mirrors his type of productions.
