a WIP that i'm stalled on - a good 10bpm slower than the norm for me! (pg. 2)

FWIW, I also like the snare - it's very punchy and gives the song some energy, whereas a clap might leave it feeling a little more laid back. But I tend to not get caught up in my personal preferences of individual sound choices like many people seem to do. I try to see the bigger picture, which makes reviewing a WIP sorta difficult for me, but I really like the direction of this track. The elements that are there now definitely work together IMO and the vox sound great. Can't wait to hear the final version!

Cheers Dave

I'll have to be honest and say a vocal of that quality is THE greatest element of this track, but that's what seems to get the best stuff out of me too, so QED

I'm waiting for some guitar parts to come through now after duscussing it at length with the guitarist.

Lets people joint this post and let us know what they think about it.

This could be really funny project and give some of us a lot of exposure. I like it already.

Damn this could be fun!

Might be a good idea not to hide it in another one of my WIP posts :D

Let it live and breath somewhere else!

I agree.

i quite like the snare too.. but it is a bit heavy on the low end. and i think some more hats and other higher frequency percs are needed.

and i like the CD idea :D

I'll definately re-visit the percussion once I get the other parts to the track through. The bottom end on the snare is most likely the kick coming through. I'll have to remedy that in some way without changing the sound of the snare!

I really like the sound mate and dont change the snare as it suits well and I get a bit bored with clappy thangs sometimes.

Has a nice 'electric' quality I really enjoy.

Plus lots of space. This is how I like to mix (although I tend to get swayed by the inevitable 'make it fuller' comments), or give me nmore percs - yet I like it kinda striped back on some tracks).

Great work.

I don't think it needs much else tbh.

Got a rough mix with the guitars in now.

It still needs plenty of work, intro/outro/FX etc but i'm liking the way the guitars feel in the track so far

Love it, feel like this guitar complement everything else nicely.

Great job.

PS. Soon, you by yourself should be able to release CD man (don't need any of us anymore lol).

Stay cool.

eh monkeh

this is very slick, nice work, clean. dont mean to be a dick, but i say take out those hihats in the start. the only thing i could recommend to improve this, is to have quite a lot more presence in the bass. other than that this is very sweet.
