Yep. There is definitely merit in matching scents to people. |

| I usually wear cologne when I go out, but something subtle and only one spray from a distance. any more than that is overkill. I find Indians, Italians and Lebanese dudes are the worst offenders when it comes to dousing themselves in perfume. I guess it matches with the rest of the douchebaggery.. too mich hair gel, too much yellow gold bling, clothes too flashy etc.. |

| I heard about schools in the country that are starting to implement a no-perfume policy. |

this thread reminded me that my girlfriend is currently at a 'scent dinner' at the four seasons in manhattan. lots and lots of colognes and perfumes. they pair gourmet dishes with the gourmet equivalent of perfumes.

Yeah most def, I agree wholeheartedly. But the vast majority of people have no concept of this.
I actually saw a girl spray perfume all over her COAT on the train last week. Ffs! There IS a correct way/place to wear perfume!! |

...yet true. :gsmile:
I would prefer a less bigoted generalisation and say all recent immigrants, but Asians and Africans just aren't like this. |

Well I'm Russian and we have our own brand of douche.. exposed chest hair, black leather jacket, armani sunnies for the guy. Leopard print outfit, stilettos, too much makeup and expensive accessories for the chick.
Asians and Africans tend to go for the hiphop/gangsta look.. which I actually don't mind for some reason - I guess they're at least not under the mistaken impression that they look classy. |

| I hate the word "douche". "Doosh" reminds me too much of "shower", so I always end up saying it with a diphthong =/ |
