Hmmm, I think the Grammy's are getting pop music and dance music confused.

Totally agree. The Grammys have pretty much been out of touch with EDM since day one. Crystal Method are permanent fixtures in the EDM category and it's gotten really boring. (Love them and appreciate what they do but... every year? really?)

Not really, first year they seemed to get it right. Ever since they let Madonna in though, yeah pretty much. Which is strange considering Jason Bentley is the head of the committee :wtf:

ive seen a lot of videos on here from events and 95% of the crowd is just standing around...so maybe the grammy committee checked out some of those parties and eliminated those artists from contention.

Best Electronic/Dance Album:

The Crystal Method's Divided By Night, David Guetta's One Love, Lady Gaga's The Fame, LMFAO's Party Rock, Pet Shop Boys' Yes.

:tongue3

who makes up the panel that comes up with the nominees?(besides the jason bentley guy that bas mentioned) wasnt even aware the PSB had made a comeback. Kaskade, Bad Boy bill,Tiesto etc all put out an album this year guess they just were'nt up to par to grammy standards lol.

good to see guetta get a nomination...

if you don't create an album(95% of the artists we talk about on TA dont) you will never be able to be nominated for a grammy for best electronic/dance album :tongue2 so i guess the best way for the nominee list to change, is for more artists to put albums out instead of just DJ'ing 300 nights a year.

Guetta has the 3rd most nominations at 5 I think...

The grammys remain largely irrelevant to me at least.

Guetta or Ga Ga. They both had HUGE hits on the radio this year. Right now, Sexy Bitch is #1 of most Top 40 stations across the US.

Being a "hit" doesn't mean that it's actually any good. The simple fact along that Lady Gaga was nominated for best dance music album ing offends me.

While it might not necessarily be good by your standards, it doesn't mean that she's not doing something right or it's good to other people. GaGa is a gold mine right now. While you might not think of her album as a DANCE album, I can totally see how it is one.

She's selling out stadiums right now, very few people can do that. I'm sorry, but most normal people don't know who Bad Boy Bill, Richard Vission or Crystal Method are. Yet, a lot more will know who Lady GaGa is. She's all over the radio.

You also gotta look into what the Academy's definition of DANCE is. I guarantee you it's not the same as our definition.
