Richie # 1

Glad to see Ben Klock getting some love. Hopefully someone brings him to Toronto in 2010.

I think this is the first dj poll i have really agreed with

I really like this poll. It def reflects my tastes more than any of the others.

Seth Troxler at #8! WOW! A plesent suprise. Such a cool guy!!!

edit:
Oh and Richie is the Tiesto of techno. LOL

More or less ... Okay....

RA's list is still one of the most creditable out there.

But still no Sander K :(

Agreed...

Although I'm probably a little biased as it favors my "sound" of choice, but I don't think anyone can argue the seemingly infinite technical ability of Hawtin, Villalobos, Dice, Troxler and especially Magda, although she seems to get very little love on this board...

Nice to see Donato Dozzy on the list.

No real surprises or upsets, especially considering the subset of the EDM scene that RA tends to cover.

I'd disagree. While I'm not all gushy over everything he does, when the man is on point - he's simply stellar.

I like how he tries to push technology, try new things and concepts. While not every concept pans out, and he stumbles along the way - at least he is trying to do something new.

In some of his mixes where he was getting up and running with his Traktor setup, you could hear where it felt like "he was playing with toys" and the musicality of his sets got lost sound sounded more like random selections of loops - but his more recent sets, it sounds like he's getting the control back.

I think he manages to try new things without selling out, and does not get stuck in the rut of nostalgia like some other DJ's do.

Now, if you just mean purely in terms of popularity he is the "Tietso of Techno", then I'd agree - but otherwise, I'd disagree.

lol I think you accidentally highlighted one of the poll's biggest flaws: genre bias?

imo the poll should be called "RA Poll: Top Techno/Tech-House DJs of 2009", and by that definition, it's a pretty solid poll!

I like this list even though not all of my 5 made the top 100 cut.

I have always really enjoyed Loco but after seeing him at Amnesia this summer I see why he has the 4th spot. He completely deserves to be there.

I still think credible is a funny word to use in an opinion poll.

I did like that you had to be registered prior to the poll announcement to cast a vote. :)

Vanos
very biased towards popular in america/western europe glitchier/noisier/tech-housish/barebone minimal techno sound poll. I listen to techno/minimal but it has virtually no artists that i really like except for Umek. the only way its better than djmag poll is by virtue of having very few cheeselords.

Although I have loved Loco every single time I have seen him I would argue about his technical ability compared to those listed above.
