I've heard interesting things about Dawkins but I get weary when anyone from either side of that kind of discussion can get all arrogant and believe they know more than another. (Not saying he is like that but he just comes across that way no?)

I read it in highschool (don't remember which addition)

Such a great novel. They say it's one of the first "sci fi" novels ever written.

Probably not much. However this translation is from 1818 ... when it was first published.

Tbh Im just trying to get ahead on my readings for school next semester. Other wise im sure to not read any of them.

Just read

Rza- The Tao of Wu

Was a short easy read but if you are in to Wu-Tang Clan it's def really interesting. Minus the ghetto philosophy lesson.

Austen's worst novel ever, why are you gonna be reading this?!

:| *Sigh*

Our Cultural History (Iconography)

ARCH 343 - Enlightenment, Romanticism and the 19th Century

We have to read a novel a week for this class, and with the weight of studio seldom does it happen unless you start reading early. So holiday Reading :)

So i have nothing to look forward too ?

Fyodor Dostoevsky - Crime & Punishment

Michael Smith - The Best of Chef at Home
Network Warrior
And a couple of others (fiction) at home, that I cannot remember.
lopi
Generation A - Douglas Coupland
Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klosterman
A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking
I Am America & So Can You - Stephen Colbert

I maxed out on Palahniuk in the summer.

All of those books I have either read or are on my to-read list, haha. Talk about the same taste in books!

Shogun - James Clavell (thanks for the reminder on this one Jamie!)

The Silmarillion -- GOOD LUCK... even i put this one down part way thru bc it just bored me to death (cant believe im saying that about a work as intricate and amazing as tolkien's world of middle-earth... but the story of its history and creation... holy jesus... prepare urself for a long journy mars...

Now SHOGUN... ME! There's a book! Bloody brilliant!!!! Cant wait to discuss this one with you! Its epic as far as im concerned. A truly great work of literature.

currently reading The Appeal by John Grisham

Just bought that last month... its 2nd or 3rd on my list after i finish my current. I needed a change of pace from fantasy and vampire novels... switching to lawyer fiction for a book or two.

P.S. Anyone who like Grisham... "JOHN LESCROART" is another legal thriller author, and IMO better than Grisham...

and all his books involve the same set circle of core characters... which you become so familiar with and grow to love... prolly one reason i love reading his novels so much.

Over time (hes written 15+ novels), they change jobs and their roles in the books change.
