| I think it'd be perfectly possible to DJ for 23 hours without more than a helping of caffeine. If he had a massive sleep beforehand and woke up only an hour before he was due to play it'd essentially be just like pulling an all-nighter, which many of us do when we're out clubbing anyway. It's dancing for 23 hours that would be impossible without a lot of drugs, so the crowd will probably turn-over quite a lot. |

I've done 26 hour workshifts myself, I don't see why 23 hours would be that hard. |

I saw this and decided to skip the usual crap in my local pub/club stuff and go to Finland .... I'm so excited.
I love Orkideas track selection and metaverse has been in my cd changer since release, so I will do my best to stay there/awake for as long as possible :D
Any other TA's going ??? |

he sure plays a lot of these days
DJ Orkidea @ Danceteria Love Boat Cruise pt2 (in August I think)
1. Pete Morillo & Eric Tong: Afterparty At My Villa
2. Joris Voorn: Sweep The Floor
3. Analog People In A Digital World: Rose Rouge (vocal edit)
4. Michel Cleis: La Mezcla
5. Martin Brodin & Dumb Dan: Le Voie Le Soleil
6. Carl Kennedy & Baby D: Let Me Be Your Fantasy
7. Pryda: Lift
8. Calvin Bosco & Chris Bekker: The Chase (The D.O.N.S. remix)
9. Pete Morillo & Eric Tong: Hey Raver
10. U2: Beautiful Day (Mat Zo remix)
However he seems to adjust his selection to the venue/audience according to his last playlists (which btw is a great service to his fans

| That's what he has always been doing, possibly adjusting the playlist completely according to the venue and crowd instead of playing the exact same tracks over and over everywhere he goes for a full year on. |

Quite depressing how this is now seen as an exception rather than a norm. |

Is there a world record for longest dj set? |
yes, a melbourne dj did it a couple of years ago. Think he went 92 or 97 hours or something. He was aiming for 100 but the doctors said he had to stop immediately.
They were drug testing him during the set and everything, the rules say you have to be clean. |

I think most of the big name dj's wouldn't have a great degree of freedom on their playlists due to record label restrictions and stuff like that which is quite sad. |

| I'm pretty sure people like Sasha and John Digweed can play whatever the hell they want to. |

Except for the fact that they most likely don't as it impacts their revenue. So in other words, nope. |

| There has to be a certain degree of outside influence at some point though. They have regular labels who promo tracks to them and a myriad of other influences. I find it extremely hard to believe that any major DJ in existence plays 100% exactly what they want without any outside influence whatsoever. You have to be extremely naive to believe that. |
