So, I just listed a musical instrument on eBay and it sold in about 30 minutes and winning bidder already paid. Now, there's a newbie who immediately asked a question, by the time I saw it it already ended with buy it now. Newbie was registered only 3 days ago. He wants to offer $100 over the price it sold for to sell to him. What do I do, o wise and ethical COR?

Challenge: when I listed the item, I reduced the price and forgot to remove "free shipping". So, if I sell to winning bidder, I'm also eating $50 in shipping costs.

So, do I refund and say sorry there was error in listing or do I just eat it?Need advise.

You listed an item for 30 minutes? ebay fail.

comprehension fail. Auction ended with buy it now within 30 minutes. An eBay equivalent of a KO in a first round. There's no option to list for 30 mins. :-)

I know it sucks but I think you must follow the rules, even though this is not the most profitable option any more. Besides, the winner already paid you for the synth.

"Hammer is the sucker's hat", as my dad usually says. You learn from your mistakes :)

how would eating copious amounts of Reeses would help in this situation?

Well if that was your "buy it now" asking price, then it's your bad for not asking for more. Can't go back now.

Sell to the guy who bought it.

Lesson learned for in the future.

I need to find an oboe for my bf for Christmas

I can't afford to buy him one right now... but I was thinking of renting one for like 3 months or something

he used to play in high school and won awards and stuff
he's been talking recently about getting back into it

craigslist, musical instruments section, list what you want, your terms and how much you can pay

funny. I went back to change price thinking it was too high. Yeah. Ive been on the same train of thought as Most of you. Guess I gotta do the right thing. Sucks being honest and ethical. There's no money in it.
