Id have to say the "happy 2 be Hardcore" compilations were an early hook, along with DJ Tron, Rob Gee, R.A.W., and Ron D Core acid mixed tapes.

Also, Theeo "Live at one" probably 98 or somewhere around that time.

Also: DJ Sammy - Heaven

Yeah I know it's so cheesy, but when I heard this on Wild 107.7, I was done listening to hip hop, and trying to find all the dance music I oculd
Thriller

I thought the music fit every scene and situation perfectly. I stayed up all night researching Paul Oakenfold in the middle of August 2001 and the rest is history. Thousands of dollars later, I can say that I am indeed addicted to trance :toothless.

I forgot to mention this one, and I'm suprised no one else did...Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport. The ultimate anthem cd. Couldn't find a raver, clubber, dj, or promoter who didn't listen to that mix at least twice a day in the late 90s. Just stuck it in the cd player and hit repeat.

wasnt a particular song, album or mixes but the era of freestyle (and old school hip hop) in the late 80s and early 90s. friends and even relatives were really into it and san jose, my hometown, has one of the biggest scenes til this day. theres still freestyle concerts and was even told compilations being put out...
