| i love spundae parties and the whole family, but i wish it'd strike a better balance with the bookings like in the past. spundae was such a powerhouse when it would dabble in every genre from week to week. some of my favorite spundae parties hosted music from hernan cattaneo, satoshi tomiie, lee burridge, danny howells, nick warren, darren emerson, sasha & digweed, chus & ceballos, smith & selway, remy, eric prydz, james zabiela, matthew dekay, markus when he was good, etc... essentially the fresh, edgy side of edm. nowadays it seems spundae is more for commercial trance and house than ever, which i can understand from a business standpoint, but is still sad to see as a music enthusiast. hopefully things are different in 2010. i would really like to come to this party just to say hi and hear what will probably be the most interesting set of the party (alain's), but i will probably be drained from the stompy party - money and energywise. ps: if nothing else, bring back the boat parties and pool parties in 2010! |
