Buddy, you're the last person I wanna see around here talking about learning or paying attention. I have seen enough posts from you in the past where you just blatantly jump at people's throats for the simplest statement. Don't even bother. |
and yet its never the credible, rational and compelling posts/posters that receive my lazy wrath. just the people. im generally ok with that. |

that if someone presents a rational and compelling argument i will spend time debating/considering it in a proper manner; but if its idiots saying things that are a little stupid i am more likely to mock or abuse them.
eg occrider talking about economics falls into the first category, whereas you talking about economics falls into the second. |

Opinions don't always have to be proven, they're an opinion. People always have unsupported opinions. |
It depends quite a lot on the nature of your opinion. If you think apples are better than oranges, then you don't really need to prove that, though we would probably expect your behaviour to conform to this opinion (and you're probably able to come up with some sort of "explanation" e.g. "I think apples are better than oranges because they're crunchy, and I like that". In this case, your opinion is not better than the opinion of someone who prefers oranges.
If, however, you're of the opinion that America was discovered in 1491 because you have a hunch, then by all means you need to justify your belief. Saying something along the lines of "Because I like 1491 better than 1492" does not make your opinion any better (or equal) than that of someone who has the right year in mind. |

or China is in better shape I probably wouldn't be able to disagree. |
Hmm, in what sense though? I'm assuming you don't mean that they are morally or politically better off than the US, so I imagine you're talking about economic position. I thought this was a pretty good take-down of the emerging consensus among Americans that China is the real driver in the international economy:

| But still, the USA by far has the most diversified liquid market in the world. Still the most envied in the world. |
