| Forgive me in advance for my sarcasm please. Some of us actually have hearts and work in the entertainment industry and support the work of fellow artists, musicians, actors, directors, concert promoters, DJs, etc. We know how hard it is to make a living in show business and get respected for our work. It is tragic any time anyone dies at such a young age. Many are reminded of how fragile life is and reflect on their own mortality. Naturally they are going to be interested for that fact even if they aren't genuinely saddened by the death of another fellow human being. How do you know who knows who? A lot of us on TA live in Hollywood. Darin is on Paul Oakenfold's label. Give me a break. Have some respect for the living as well as the dead. |

I don't have TV and i only watch NFL.
I didn't know. I do get your point, but desensitization is a mother ****** so those other issues become smaller and smaller. And the worthless media only reports like this or Tiger.
Ohh yeah, and LOL @ Simon passing out at sets and screen writings for chewing on hillbilly heroin. |

RIP Paul Oakenfold. Homeboy looks like he's dead and his career is pretty much dead too.
I have respect for all people unless you are a terrorist, Rapist, child molester or murderer... I just didn't come to this forum to read about some b-rate movie celebrity death. Just out of curiousity, what exactly do you do to support the work of artists? Did you purchase every song on your computer?
c'mon dude. Life is fragile. We all know this.

Won't be announced until the toxicology reprot is done. |

Paul Oakenfold's career is dead? Yeah, I guess that's what everyone overseas thinks, right? His club "Perfecto Vegas" at Rain is THE hottest club in Las Vegas. http://www.perfectovegas.com/
That's not on CNN though.
What do I do to support artists? I go to their shows and pay an admission fee, I encourage them, I mentor them, I chart them, I play their music, I buy their music, and more. Support comes in many forms and I've spent over $150,000 on single tracks and albums in my lifetime. I've probably spent another $100,000 on shows. That doesn't include movies, DVDs, etc.
I am sorry your forum browsing experience was ruined by this thread. |

I just left this "forum browsing experience" in my toilet.
This is just a guess but lets say by looking at your website/myspace under the barrage of unresized flyers that you look like you have been clubbing since you were maybe 15 years old? which makes you about 30? That's 15 years of supporting artists which breaks down to about $16,666 a year for 15 years = $250,000 (not including movies and DVD's of course) If you are going to sit here and tell me that you drop that much money you are either a trust-fund baby or you are a complete retard.

... or a retarded trust-fund baby... I could be both, right?
Be a man and have some respect for the dead and our country.
Admit that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to music.
Do you know how much vinyl records cost? They cost a lot. Someone with a record collection of over 10,000 records averaging $10 per record would have spent $100,000 easy. That doesn't include tax or records that cost $12.99-$15.
What do you care where my money comes from or how I spend it? That's my business. If I want to spend it on records, concerts, shows, etc., that's for me to decide. |

Jim, You couldn't let this go could you? "Wah Wah Wah ... it's my money. I can cry if I want to.. I can cry if I want to..."
NOBODY GIVES A FLYING where you spend your money or what you spend it on. I was just pointing out the obvious and breaking down your yearly budget because you brought it up to begin with you baller. Anyone here with 1/2 a brain knows that number of $250,000 was pulled out of your ass.. Thats a load of money you spent over 15 years so just admit that you exaggerated? Please for the love of music? admit that YOU really have no clue what the f*ck you are talking about... Go back to disney you nipple biscuit. I blocked this tread from my memory but yet you had to go try and bring it back like the turd that just wouldn't flush down my toilet. The turd that just won't go down... flush after flush after flush that just kept spinning and spinning. It was just too light to get sucked by the water gods down the hole.
I obviously have much more respect for people in "our country" and even more for the people that gave their life to protect ours or I wouldn't have started a comment in this dumbass thread to begin with. The entire point of the comment was to bring AWARENESS to the BIGGER ISSUES than some dead 32 year old actress that could of died due to drugs or natural - whatever - who cares. Yeah it sucks that she died at such a young age. I'm sorry that you have feelings for her. BUT, people die everyday at a much younger age than her so why don't you do something about it rather than cry to me about it. I donate time and money every year to help the needy and support our troops. If you do that already than I'm sorry. But if you don't. Shut up already.
On a side note.. Again, if you had half a brain you would know that those 10k+ records of ty EDM that you own and keep in your Ikea bookshelf are not worth more than a coster at Chili's. I have been collecting, playing, producing music for more than 17 years and I have an entire wall of vinyl collecting dust and doing nothing but waiting for someone to burn my house down so I can collect insurance on it but for christ sake bro - those records aren't worth . Unless you had a signed Michael Jackson "Thriller" album w/ his semen on it - it's not worth more than Aunt Jemima's Syrup. There are very few vinyl records out there that have value like the Beatles and I'm sure as you don't have record thats worth more than $50 in your collection. I have milk crates full of test pressings that aren't worth . I might as well save money by throwing them as skeet and shooting with a shotgun. (obviously keeping the gems because I'm not retarded)
Anyways... Listen dude, do your thing. I'm happy for you being passionate about music because thats important. But get a grip on reality. Baseball cards and comic books hold more value than most vinyl records unless you have a rare Beatles record or something along those lines. Again, this is a music forum not an Oprah-douche-drama. Please Jim, Young Jedi Carson from LA. Go cry on someone's shoulder you puss bucket because nobody else gives two flying shi*ts about you and your pile of vinyl that you are talking about.
When in doubt young Jedi Carson... Go fishing and bring some bourbon with yo' bad self.
Peace out bitches ... Happy New Year!

What the are you two arguing about? :stongue:
Muki, I have no idea who you are, but why don't you take this weird -slinging competition you started with Jim to PM so the rest of us don't have to get an aneurysm trying to figure out how you twisted Brittany Murphy's death into a long-winded diatribe on American's foreign policy in relation to the amount of money Jim spends on dance music. |
