Finally coherent enough to put together some thoughts.
First, thanks to jon jon and footwork staff for putting together this party and allowing me the opportunity to play. Honestly, is it possible to have a bad time at this place? :)
Thanks to the DJs for stellar tunes!
Nick, your bouncy tech was fun.
Gera, you're pretty damn good if you can play deep house and get the floor moving. You're quickly becoming one of my favourite deep house DJ.
Jon Jon and Mutton tag team awesome duo raised the party to another level with fun tunes.
Andrew, you know how much I'm not much of a fan of Toronto tech house, but you managed to get the best of Toronto tech house and Andrew McDonnell style and put together tremendous set.
Kotsy, was a treat to hear you play CZ style at footwork lol. Threw me off a little with the funky tunes at the end, but it was all good man :)
Last night was another example of amount of talent we have in TOTA. Always a pleasure to rock out to TOTA DJs. :)
Thanks to everyone who came out. The vibe was incredible. Friends everywhere. Some I haven't seen in years! Met couple of new TAs, incl Calvin and our special guest from Oz.
Smiles everywhere! TOTA turned footwork into a zoo once again. :)
Special thanks to those who stuck around until the end to hear me play. Means a lot to me. Hopefully my meagre offerings were satisfactory :)

LOL! It was a struggle to tame that CDJ. That thing was more sensitive than a virgin vagina and threw off couple of my transitions. :mad: :haha:

Me: Uh, no. We're at footwork dude
Drunken Oz: But Yohan, you gotta play some tech trance.
-blank faces I saw when I played Underworld - Rez. Almost like people were trying to figure out where they heard this before, but not sure where lol. But it was one of my things to do as a DJ, playing Rez live. :)
Looking forward to next TOTA event!
PS: jean jean gets the grinch award for not letting me play My Lexicon (PrinsJan and Dennis Ruyter remix) to end the night. lol. Next time! ;) |

super fun times last night! I drank a few and danced sooo much! Just made it for 11 and everyone was grooving to some nice chill warm up tunes. Got to meet Calvin who came to footwork for the first time, dude u can friggin dance! Later after 12 the tunes picked up and everyone was doing some serious jamming. I dunno if I can compare the summer warm up to the winter xmas party.. both very good but last night was epic to say the least! Kotsy man! u were having a blast and everyone was going nuts during your set! Yohan ... u played some great tunes that made me smile! u also danced more than ever!

Good to see everyone last night -- fun times.
