Spundae wasn't listed on the flyer for Bob Sinclair / Joachim Garraud to my knowledge. I would assume they're still continuing to book the Honey Lounge.

Spundae in on the flyer. Just small at the bottom as it's under the "Avaland" umbrella.

My bad, there is more than one version of the flyer floating around.

Well, Spundae seems to be holding down Avalon tilll at least end of January. Hopefully Giant finds a good new venue... I'm interested to see what happens here.

Just saw the Giant movin to Avalon email.

Has Giant left Vanguard entirely, is anyone going to be doing Vanguard Saturday events?

as Vanguard has sold to new ownership, i doubt they will be doing any events there... and with them taking over creative control of Avalon i seen no reason why they would...

the press release:

GIANT c. 2010
LOS ANGELES UPDATE

It’s official. Giant has merged its weekly Saturday night (formerly at Vanguard) into the award-winning grandeur that is Avalon. Following last Saturday’s breakout gig with Bob Sinclar at Avalon, this Saturday marks the start of weekly Saturdays that are poised to unite the best of the best under one roof.

So, without further adieu, Giant will be co-presenting Avaland Saturdays at Avalon and Giant will also be supporting Control Fridays at Avalon (more on that later).

Avaland Saturdays are fully stocked to begin 2010. We’ll be uncorking everything from Steve Angello (January) and Calvin Harris (February) to Sasha and John Digweed (both in March). With groundbreaking production and weekly installations to match the top-notch talent, these nights will bring something extraordinary to behold.

You said something about Steve Aoki and Suk Song. Is that true? Vanguard still operating? Name change? Remodel?

Oh man! Avalon is gonna be one hell of a cluster to get in now! lol

i had heard those 2 guys were part of the buyer's group but you prob know just as well as i do... and i'm not privy to the details about their future plans.... i do think its shut down for 2 weeks for a quick regrouping/renovation and then reopens later this month. i suspect they will be trying to get a hollywood type of crowd there now based on the reported ownership...
modthispny
does this mean were going to get jipped? (trance)

Interesting. Vanguard started with a Hollywood type crowd when it first opened its doors. It'll be interesting to see how it will progress now.

Not necessarily, if they utilize the Honey Room entrance, the two main entrances and the Bardot side entrance it will be fine. Plus Avalon does a good job at giving an incentive to those who come early vs. afterhours.
