Is Rogers getting really slow lately

I just moved up to Markham and switched from Bell hse to Rogers. The first week I was getting speeds of 350+ downloads so I was happy that I didn't get hit with the Rogers speed cap. This week I can't seem to get more than 150 kb/s. This is really pissing me off, how they can cut my speed in half without even telling me and I had to go on the net to find out about it. I ing hate rogers!!!:whip:
bluE_Neon
yes, well i still get high speed 250-350kb/sec here in the area where i live, but thats only a matter of time when their gonna put the caps on bandwith :(
Trancewave
yup, i got hit by the rogers speed cap. Can't get anything more than 150 no matter what I try. And the bandwidth cap is on the way soon too. :whip:

They ing halved the speed? WTF?

I'm a Rogers user and I noticed right away. It happend 2 or 3 weeks ago in my area. And it pisses me off. If we are only getting half the service, shouldn't we be paying half the bill?

Still, Gupta said the changes were made to improve, rather than limit, the average customers' broadband experience. She said a small percentage of heavy-use customers were slowing down the service of the remaining users. In other words, people were hogging the bandwidth.

Well you could always upgrade your ing servers instead of cheating the ing customers out of their money! You ing crackers!

This is Gramps -- he wants to know wtf is going on with his internet!??!?!

Now it's only half high speed so I think we should pay half the price :(
Trancewave
okay, I understand that on their policy agreement it says they can make ammendmants (sp?) to their service without notifying us. But for F###'s sake, cutting our speed by half while promoting 3mbps is pretty drastic! WTF! They say that 90-95% of people won't notice the difference? Who the fk are they kidding? They assume 95% of people out there with high speed are stupid? They hook you in with promises of 3mbps downloads and then cut your service by half and INCREASING THE F###KING PRICE!!!! :whip: :whip: :whip:

If you're a Bell subscriber right now thinking about switching over to Rogers to get away from Bell's monthly bandwidth cap, DON'T BOTHER! The only reason Roger's don't have one yet is so that they can hook all the people in from Bell. Once they have enough people they will make revisions to their service! Bloody Wankers!!!!!

WTF well then why the are they doing it? So 5% get faster speed?
Fir3start3r
I haven't noticed anything yet...:nervous:

Well I've noticed it big time... this piece of Rogers is now only like 4-5 times faster than regular dial up (when it comes to regular internet browsing) and like 10-15 times faster when it comes to downloading music, viewing videos and e... I can't even view the video streams that were encoded for DSL/cable customers due to the lack of bandwidth. en bastards... and they increase the price by $5, without even letting us know!

Does anyone know any satellite internet providers in Toronto, cuz I'm en sick of Rogers! Their TV channels suck ass, digital cable is piece of and it freezes every 10 seconds (should I even bother mentioning ty channel selection?!), their internet service is just getting worse and worse (and more expensive) and their wireless phone service just blows...

Money hungry bastards :(. Well I hear theres a nice DSl company with no speed caps and no limits. My ex told me about it and I might get signed with them.
