| Was talking with a few of my friends, wondered what NYTA's think....... who goes out to events alone? I have before, and have had a great time..... many of my friends say that it is stupid, and no point in it. If nobody else wants to go out, what is the point of ruining what could potentially be a good night?? Whats everyone else think? |

| There's a certain connection you get with the music when you're alone and there's absolutely nothing to distract you. Even more apparent when you're in a city where nobody knows you. Just you and the music - it's amazing. |

| Its really about how comfortable you are! I personally go for the friends AND the music, but I know plenty of people who go alone and enjoy it just as much, if not more! :) :) I met one of my friends this way! |

| I do both. However at this stage in the game the chances of me going to an event and not knowing one single person there are slim to none, lol. |

| i do it a lot. all my friends aren't really into edm. There's nothing wrong with going to a show alone because like you said why stay at home and miss out on what could be a great night. Besides it beats bringing a friend and having to worry all night if they having a good time. I get from my friends all the time but i could give a sh1t. |

Same here. I also like going somewhere and finding people you haven't seen in forever. You might go out alone but then ten people you know will be there. It happens less for trance events for me then techno, house, and D&B. |

| every event in nyc i have gone alone to and end up meeting people i know as well as new ones. not an issue at all, in fact it's more fun this way, imo. |

I've met a lot of NYTA's by heading up there from Philly solo. A couple of my favorite nights in NYC were when I was by myself. :) |

| Don't get me wrong, def love hanging out with people too and sometimes go just for that! Each is good in it's own way :) |

I go out alone to a lot of events, but I find it hit or miss. If there's no one there that you know, the first few random conversations aren't enthralling, and the music is mediocre, sometimes I wish I'd have stayed home.
I've had tons of great nights out alone, though. |

this. Since I have to make a trip, usually I end up heading alone to events that usually end up drawing people I know anyway. Sometimes I've been by myself for a while without finding them & it's still fantastic!
being w/friends, though, can make it that much better, because you're sharing the enjoyment. |

| I go to a lot of events alone, but more and more I run into TA's when I go out. When I go out alone, I usually stay close to front and center and concentrate on the music. On many occasions, I meet someone cute to dance with. In fact, I've dated two guys I've met on the dancefloor. That has never happened when I went dancing with friends. |
