Went to go see temples in Cambodia. I am quite amazed with Cambodia, its such a nice country but really bad history. I really liked the food :) yummy crocodile.

As for Thailand pretty much went to relax and bake in the sun for 2 weeks in the South East. Plus spent a few days in Bangkok shopping and visiting. I'd for want to go back to Bangkok and see a few things I missed, like the floating market and some muay thai (which is like 90 mins outside the city)

that must have been cool. Did you see any memorials or Pol Pot-related stuff there? I hear Bangkok is dirty but also dirt cheap for shopping, etc. The muay thai and cockfighting (?) would be interesting, lots of betting there too.

Quebec couple got shot in Mexico, just read that today.

Those trips are once in a lifetime experiences, especially if you can see the animals or swim with sharks.

Quebeckers and Canadians keep dying in Mexico lol

Nope didn't have a chance to see any of Pol Pot.

Bangkok quite dirty, but certain parts of the city its pretty clean, it's a cool city to visit :) I can't wait to go visit... Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul.

One thing if you go to Samui, just don't go into Chaweng there is all these annoying sales people and every 3 doors its the same person saying they are a tailored and will make you a suit for cheap and they want to shake your hand. Thing is with Chaweng thats were all the bars and "massage-parlours" are.

Seoul is a filthy city with not much to offer in the way of tourism.

Yeah, I'm actually quite aware of the hotel, I think there's one in Scandinavia too (Sweden?)

yup, it is the 'original' one if I am not mistaken. A coworker of mine went last year and enjoyed it, it looks fantastic but definitely costs more than I would probably want to pay for the experience (I think it was around 350 euros a night).

In a month I am going to Punta Cana with most of my family for a week, and Madrid for 6 days in March. Really looking forward to both trips!

Kate, Ottawa is so warm right now they may not have any skating for Winterlude :p

Dominican Republic prices going down? How so? :p

I wonder what that airport is like right now.

yeah here it has been the opposite, snow stayed on the ground for a month (melted last week) which is uncommon and the canals stayed frozen for awhile (schools close for the day so kids can go skating). Not too cold though thankfully, relatively speaking.

I'm sure we'll get ours soon... you know what February's like in Ottawa and Montreal :whip: :p

re: Dominican Republic, I guess airports are okay, it's the airbases that will get more traffic due to humanitarian efforts for neighbouring Haiti. There's probably some D.R. travel discounts to be had in any case, not to mention air travel is probably down most places.
