Cool story bro

Three months ago I bought an Xbox from Wal-Mart, planning on playing it for the duration of their return policy and returning it for a refund. I'd be bored with it in that time anyway. When I picked it up they gave me a $100 gift card. I thought, well that's cool, but I can't use it because I'm returning it. I just returned the Xbox, with the gift card in my pocket, hoping the girl at the return desk wouldn't notice they gave it to me. Just when I thought I was in the clear, she asks me for the card. She looked at it, then handed it back to me. So I got paid $100 to play 3 months of free video games. Thanks Wal-Mart.

And yes, I've used the card.

Not bad, lol.

I have a friend who's been playing a nice little scam for a few years now:

In Australia, there's a big department store called Myer. They have a policy where you can return items to them, even without a receipt, and they'll give you store credit. So, my friend goes and hits the big DVD sales at all the other stores, picks up a bunch of cheap titles (crap clearance movies) and then returns them to Myer for store credit of the full amount, saying that the DVDs were an unwanted present, and thet's why he doesn't have a receipt for them. With that credit, he buys the DVD titles/games/anything that he wants.

Cool story bro?

An equally cool story bro :tongue3

I'd never do something like this to a mom & pop store, but Wal-Mart, oh hell yes.

I actually did the same thing at Best Buy two years ago, but their return policy was for two months. Plus no gift card.

I'm wondering if we can make it to page 2 before someone goes on a rant about Wal-Mart's negative role in the global economic climate.

WittyHandle
Maybe we will if I keep posting before giving anyone else a chance to respond.

This will help take up another post:
