personally i think that everyone today seems to think we have it worse than before even though history dictates otherwise.

our generation has it way easy compared to before and 2012 will just be another y2k for the pleebs.

I feel that we somehow reached a point where we are going backwards instead of progressing thanks to superstition, a sudden disdain for science and reason, and religion.

Explain. If anything, the disdain has always been there. Most groundbreaking concepts that we use and study today have been largely controversial and, more often than not, not accepted at first.

Edit: Hell, even superstition and religion. What you described has been going on since the dawn of man.

Exactly. The world is not becoming worse, only more televised.

Of course, as your population increases, the raw number of objectionable incidents are probably going to increase, but accelerated dehumanization is probably the future anyways, so look forward to not giving a about how horrible things become.
