I've been in that situation. I find its best not to make a lead, just work with the stuff you got, use some chords/arps filter them in/out, soem effects here and there. Eventually it'll come to you mate.

specific sound or actual pattern ?

Honestly man, you just have to keep plugging away at it. I encounter this situation frequently, and sometimes you just have to keep trying until you find something that works. Sometimes I find it helps to shelve the track for a period of time and then return to it so you can gain a fresh perspective.

I think you simply just ran out of ideas, I'd close the track for a day or 2 and go listen to some new music. You might hear something you like and get an idea.

Tag it as "progressive" and send it to every label you know.

Loop a phrase and improvise with synths until you get something that sounds usable, that's how I do it.

man, this happens to me all the time: i always have emphasis on the bass and percussion, lead always gets organised last, so i often run out of ideas...

if you have a chord progression down, just work on variations of it until something sounds good.. :)
