I don't mind checking out the party if it is not that expensive and that far away. Besides, it is a horrible place for partying. I've heard the vibe of the parties were pretty good there. Still, I wouldn't pay that much money and do so much preparation for it.
I've also heard of their reasons for the location and admission, etc. I don't care. If it is cheap and it is nearby, I will show up for sure for some top EDM acts. |

Black Rock City, BABY!!! I will most definitely be there.
If you have doubts, don't go. This event is definitely not for people who are afraid to think outside of the box.
It's not just about the music, it's about freedom of expression. You're basically building a city from the ground up. Once the party is over everything is burned and torn down. Leave no trace behind. |

their website is amazingly detailed and informative. Everything you need to know about the thinking behind the event, and preparation can be found on the site. I would say its best to go with friends that have been before.

You do need to plan accordingly as you will be in the middle of the desert for an entire week. Brings LOTS of water. Goggles are pretty much mandatory due to the dust storms.
If you plan on taking illegal substances make sure they are safely secured and out of sight. Since it's Nevada, you can get ed up big time if you're caught with drugs. There's a lot of undercover cops patrolling the area, so be careful. |

enlighten us....asked a person i know who has gone to BM most of the decade to describe in 5 words or less...
the response after pondering:
"Design,dress-up, drinking, drugs."
not necessarily in that order i imagine? |

I don't think it's possible to describe Burning Man in less than 5 words. You can find any of those things anywhere. What sets BM apart from everything else is the sense of community.
It really is all up to you; it's what you make of it. |

Well I have never been so ask me in Sept. But I have spent a lot of time discussing with regular burner friends, and I have read pretty much everything they have put on their website. I figure to get a lot more out of it then can be described in 5 words. Im not going to drive 10 hrs into the middle of the desert for a week to drink and do drugs, we can do that here every weekend |
