It's the same vip as others, those are given to promoters as gratuities. |
Not as gratuities, only a small batch to sell for our friends, we pay taxes for this kind of ticket |

| Anybody knows if Bal en Blanc is facing the same difficulties in selling their tickets than Black and Blue did a few months ago, or are they pretty much selling like last year? |

Thanks for the feedback, master of the tickets. Out of curiosity, would you say you are doing better than B&B because Bal en Blanc clientele is different (maybe BeB relies less on out of province tourism?) or because B&B was held at a very unfortunate moment last year (I am referring to to bad economic situation here, and not thanksgiving...)? |

BeB crowd go for the party, the skin and party favours, etc. They reach a larger segment of partiers, ppl that will like trance and very familiar djs like Guetta, etc. They also reach the gay segment, look at the house room this year.
Black and Blue crowd go for the music and it's a predominately gay crowd; for whatever reason, straights (the majority) don't attend en masse like they would the other party, which is too bad.
Hope this helps, it's just one man's observation. |

umm, we like our skin and party favors too, boyfriend. However you are correct -- Black and Blue is about the music, the HOUSE music.
If they decide to bring trance to Black and Blue I will cry harder than I have ever cried to Barbara Streistand's Memories.
That song gets to me everytime :sadgreen: |

Don't kid yourself, people attending B&B don't have music first in mind, at least most of the people going there have no idea who's spinning... yes we loved our Sasha & Digweed, but at the end they didn't matter.
Black and Blue is not marketed for the masses, their organization can pretend whatever they want, its not and most probably will never appeal to the masses unless they change their marketing ploys.
A few weeks before the event, I was asking lots of randoms at events (i'm a photographer that goes around) if they would go to black and blue, and most had no idea what I was talking about, and I had to explain what it was while referencing to Bal en Blanc ( and they knew what BeB was ).
You cannot expect to attract 10k+ people if the average joe has no idea about your event,_there's so much people and then some coming to TA/Stereo/EDM events... even if your ticket is cheaper and your lineup is solid. |

man, I hope B&B don't adopt the BeB strategy of selling as many tickets as possible by catering to the majority, the mainstream. That would kill that "getting lost into the music" vibe and turn it into a club vibe instead, as it seems to be headed that way last few years anyways. We don't need two musically watered down massives.
You go to B&B you know you're getting good beats with much less hassle and money spent to get into the event too. B&B could change its marketing maybe by spending a bit more? But so long as they keep in mind that quality of its product is just as important as quantity of tickets sold in the long run. |

The underground nature of EDM is that the second a dj becomes too popular, his music sucks automatically.
There's no way to have both qualities, its just doesn't exist.
That's a dilemma that no event organizer can overcome.
Even the booking of S&D and Seamen pissed alot of people because they were too mainstream, and not true to the nature of B&B, so yeah... there you have it. |
