Even the booking of S&D and Seamen pissed alot of people because they were too mainstream, and not true to the nature of B&B, so yeah... there you have it.
typically Black and Blue was about circuit tribal house, the Tenaglias, Chus and Ceballos, Peter Rauhofer, that sort of thing. Some would argue that genre of edm is "mainstream" too.
Sasha and Digweed, Seaman (love how you spelled it, smooch!) we initially saw as too much progressive house but it deliciously worked at Black and Blue. When Sasha dropped Donna Summers "I feel love" I got so moist I kept sliding off my chair afterwards :happy2:
The Bal en Blanc house room is going to be crazy. Will you join us in the dancepit for Morales, Mr Malek? :)

No doubt... But I was more curious to know if B&B relied more on out of town people to fill the place than BeB does. But I think you might be on to something when you say that BeB draws from a larger pool of people, so for each one that can't make it, there is another one willing to replace them. Still, I'd be curious to know if BeB had been held when B&B did, if they would have hurt as much.

I still think they would outsell Black and Blue.. there are simply more clubbers, more tranceheads, more partiers than the predominately gay clientele that Black and Blue draws from.. and they draw from the gay community too. I think that's a bigger variable than the market or time of year you're suggesting.
The bookings are more inclusive.. BeB is more diverse in its bookings. lol.

Sharik: to answer your question, Black & Blue draws more from out of town people (mainly the circuit boys from the US and other canadian provinces) than Bal en Blanc. At his peak (in 1999 and 2000), capacity reached 15000-20000 in a single "room" at the olympic stadium. But then in 2001, 9-11 happened (1 month before) and attendance took a big hit from the lack of out of town tourists. Since then the set-ups haven't been as impressive or elaborate and attendance has declined.
