it's not made to be a computer
it's not made for work, it's made for entertainment
it is marketed as "The best way to experience the web, e-mail, photos and video. Hands Down"
i totally agree with them
it shines in entertainment where the desktop doesnt: you can bring it anywhere
you will say "laptops and netbooks exist, idiot"
ok sure, but it weighs less and takes less space then either,
i dont think this has been noted but the screen is def big enough to use the keyboard with all fingers rather then gameboy style
so its better then a netbook cause u save the whole keyboard page
And the human-machine interaction is naturally intuitive: you just touch
"so why dont you get a ing itouch"
sure ! go ahead and rape you and your 3 other buddies' eyes while you watch a movie
people who just chill on their itouches for hours look like retards looking at their genitals
thats where the iPad comes in
"but i cant put the iPad it in my pocket"
obviously RETARD!!!!!!!!!!
on top of it all, it features the new iBook which is gonna rape anally all forms of paperback
ever had that problem where you try and read but its too dark?
or where you have to force spread the book open like a chick who doesnt wanna?
"ok genius, e-readers have already been invented"
do they have internet? youtube email photos and all the apple apps?
stop hating on something you can't afford |

errrr, yes, this is usually the case with portable vs non-portable entertainment...

...and yes, we do have laptops and netbooks (I'll refrain from the name-calling however).

"Just yesterday I was looking at my iPhone thinking "Hmmm, I wish this thing didn't fit in my pocket and couldn't make phone calls." Then I looked over to my netbook and couldn't help but feel it would benefit from losing the keyboard and being made of 50% glass." :p
Costs more, weighs the same and takes slightly less space... you're throwin it in your bag either way.

When you sacrifice ergonomics & functionality for style, it is neither more intuitive nor an improvement in these areas. Typing is unarguably easier/quicker when you can "just touch" a keyboard.

So, you and your buddies watching movies on a 9.7" screen and playing hold the iPad will be mocking the "retards" doing the same thing on a 3.5" screen?

Yes... you wouldn't even believe the solution I came up with.
Ever try and read a novel using only a backlit LCD?
...this is the whole reason e-ink took off (besides the multi-week battery life).

Yes, no, no... they're e-readers, not netbooks.

Because none of us here have 500 whopping dollars, and jealousy would be the only reason anyone wouldn't defend the shortcomings of something so shiny and pretty with a big apple logo on it...

the only reason i'd get one of these pad's is to use it as a cheap lemur clone. some of the apps for the iphone/itouch to control midi/abletoonz are pretty dope. |
