Going to bust out the lights for this one for identification purposes, lol. I'm bringing blue/green flowlights (LED glowsticks)

See you guys out there tonight! I plan on arriving around 10:30

I thought the set might be ok when he dropped Metropolis and Nothing but You.... but after that it just turned into one cheesey fist pump fart bass over teched out single synth preset guido anthem after the other (and the ocasional decent house tune). I think my IQ dropped 100 points, lol.

Had fun with friends, just think 99% of the tracks shulz played sounded like total ass. Will not ever be seeing him or any other artist affiliated with Armada ever again. The stuff he is playing makes Anjunabeats seem credible and underground.... RIP Markus Schulz.

Stereo Live > Bar Rio by far.... they really have made the place 10x nicer. Lighting and sound is great, plenty of places to sit and relax... Now we just need some actual talent brought in :o *cough 16 Bit Lolitas *cough*

After getting lost for two hours and doing rounds on the loop, finally managed to catch markus for once. Showing up after the openers is def new must for me. I was impressed with the show, now im kinda pissed i didnt make it to see him all the prior times.

Sounds like this was a cluster from beginning to end. I have had the pleasure with chatting with Mark before his set before. He tries to get a feel for the crowd before he goes on and gets a feel for how he's going to play based on what the crowd is reacting to with the local line up. Just as I thought, the local line up ed up the whole night. May sound a little lame to blame Mark's set on the local line up, I know. But he really does try to cater to the crowd that he is playing for. Case in point, I have listened to his most recent GDJB shows live and he has absolutely killed it as usual. Until the crowds in Texas start demanding that the night be solid from beginning to end, locals included, this won't be the last time you see a big name DJ just go through the motions. Yes, I might be a little biased when it comes to Mark. But I know what he puts into it when he feels it's worth it and I also know what ing dumbs Nightculture has become in assembling the local talent around big name guys like this. I, for one, would have had Matty and Cory opening for this guy. Doesn't sound like anyone else down there is playing worth a right now.

I reference my earlier post - Way to up a potentially good night with a ty local line up.

Wake up Nightcluster and learn how to please a crowd.

Not going to disagree with you on most of your points, but as for me lately, Marcus's sets have been lackluster at best. And he's one of my top 3 DJ's.

Every show before this one, I was there @ open, no exception. Most of the time the openers just didnt do it for me, this isnt excluding the tour opener, ie dj three for sasha(just as an example). Also, having to wait for the place to fill up and get going just made it for a really long night/event not to mention day if it was a work day. So after a long day at work, i go to a show expect to hear a proper build up for a night, and end up hearing the local/opener play nothing but peak bombs or just no real flow, kinda got boring for me. Thats not to say that there is local talent that can move the dance floor, cause there is, its just that i dont expect for them to bang it out at 10 when theres maybe 50 people scattered about. so by coming in late(later than what i actually wanted) was good. the party was already in full swing and i didnt have to sit through electro house for a trance dj. as much as i like alex c, i think the line up on this event was whack. kinda like booking dj irene before lets say nick warren. totally different vibes, that in my opinion clashes in a bad way. I like the idea of cutting through the filler and get the point. cause if the openers really suck, im gonna leave and not catch the main act, which is the whole point of me driving an hour in the first place.

Got there right before Markus was on. I thought it was a pretty good set starting off. I'm pretty sure I heard Binary Finary. That surprised me. A few other older classics as well. I still had a fun night. It was great to see Cory and Matt as usual.

As for openers. I really have never gone to see any unless it's someone I know or someone that I know is decent. From what I heard though. The openers for Markus sucked.

Anyway. Had a much needed fun night. I was glad it wasn't too packed. Had enough room to breathe.

you should pay the house djs back by playing some needs to feel for mark farina. lol.
