| Can anyone recommend any good vegan options? I'm not myself but I have a friend coming who is, and we had a hard time finding stuff for her to eat last year. |

Does anyone know of a decent vegetarian or vegetarian-friendly restaurants around SoBe? It is mine and my GFs 1 year anniversary on the Sunday of the Conference, and I'm looking to get a table somewhere nice, and (unfortunately ;) ) she is a veggie, which cuts down the options.
As I have no idea about restaurants in Miami, especially veggie ones, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |
oh you couldnt be more wrong about cutting down options in SoBe. The place is vegetarian heaven...tons of fresh fruit, smoothies, fresh mozz/basil/tomato sandwiches, sushi, thai food, italian food, etc.
tons of falafel places (theres an awesome Kosher hole in the wall that makes ridiculous falafel hummos wraps down off ocean and 4th i wanna say)
Sushi Express on Washington is great late night for veggie-ville sushi plate and tofu squares. get all the protein and veggies you need without feeling too full--i always grab one on my way to the afterhours parties thurs/fri
It depends what kinda vegetarian she is...if she likes exotic or like boring pasta dishes.
I eat like a champ when I'm there and feel SO healthy compared to home and I've been a veg my entire life!
My personal favorite and MUST-HAVE is the Chilaquiles breakfast at Oh Mexico on the corner of Espanola Way...i alternate btwn the red sauce and the green, but i swear, thats all you need to go go go go all day after that! |

any of the sushi places will help--she can get veggie sushis, etc
And on Alton GO GO Fresh cafe has TONs of options for her.
Really it shouldn't be an issue..everything is fresh and theres a billion salads in SoBe |

I just bring a couple of bottles in my checked baggage, that way I can use my own stash instead of having to buy more bottles when I get there. |
How do they not confiscate them when they xray your bag?! That's crazy lol. You can't take a 4oz bottle of shampoo, but go ahead, take a liter of vodka! :stongue:
I'm coming from El Paso and the only time I tried that, they confiscated the ONE bottle of tequila I was taking to my friends in Pittsburgh :( |

You're allowed to check-in alcohol. I've done it several times. This is for domestic flights within the US.
Think you're thinking of carry-on luggage. |

Really? Well, when I took one when I got to my destination it was gone and I had an inspection ticket inside :/. So they just ripped off my bottle?! What crap...
Well in that case then, I'll be taking plenty of tequila with me then :). Its super cheap across the border ;) |

TSA agent got some free booze! I usually just carry one bottle, pack it well, and it's fine. |
