The thread was unstickied. We have too many stickies at this moment and we need to have space for a few events up there. Right now there are 4.

Really, over the photo page that hasn't seen a new post in over 2 months?

I didn't unsticky it. Swamper did, and he said it was the obvious choice. Probably since there aren't many posts in this new one.

I think it's fair to say that this it my absolutely fav. restaurant so far, after having lived here for 8 months now. A bit pricey, yes, but absolutely worth it. Nice relaxed atmosphere, not too fancy, great wines, gorgeous fried calamari with fresh guacamole, each and every entree is finger-lickin-icious.

Might as well write another review while I'm on this thread.

One of my favourites in the neighbourhood. Not pricey and the servings are HUGE, best value for steak in Manhattan, hands down. I always start with provoleta, which is grilled provolone with olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper. Try not to order too many appetizers, it's a mistake many new people to the place make. However, if you have a big party (great place for groups) go for the Rueda Buenos Aires, a sample of sausages, sweetbreads, tripe, etc straight from the grill. The empanadas are delicious too.

Now the steaks. Oof. They serve pretty much every cut grilled perfectly. They also serve dishes from the kitchen, the Milanesa Fugazza is one of my favourites (breaded beef cutlet with mozzarella and onions). They also have some garlicky Papas Provenzal that go great with the beef. (Ordering a Milanesa dish is enough for 2 people, the skirt steak is good enough for 3!)

The wine list is good, it has a lot of Argentinean Malbecs that are very inexpensive (lots under $50) and of great quality, as most Argentinean wine is.

My only complaint would be that if you don't speak spanish, you're screwed. I don't understand how some of these guys are serving tables without having no knowledge of wine and no ability to speak english. Most are helpful, but occasionally you'll encounter a server that is not nice or trying to push a more expensive bottle down your throat. For the price though, I'll put up with that.

Well, I don't feel like writing another review for the place, but I have to mention it since it was the best restaurant experience I have ever had...

We each got a 7 course tasting menu that was priced at like, 130 or something. Oh man, ing amazing. Scandinavian food. Lots of fish, I think 2 lobster dishes. wowowow

Bumping this since Euphoria showed me this thread.

My question: Does anyone have any good recommendations of casual restaurants along the Manhattan waterfront that have views of the NYC skyline? Or anything casual with a good view of something in the city.

Buenos Aires is a dope spot I eat there all of the time

Nothing beats a nice Malbec,a skirt steak, and a plate of melted provolone
