This tune in particular is one that I listened to countless times. Never heard on ANYONE elses set ever. But this song was well before its time and I remember listening to it cranked in my car back in 2000-2001. Oakey played it in Miami and Space on the Essential Mix back in 1999. That was such a wonderful year, IMO the best year for dance music.

Here is the tune.

The Source - Fly Away

Well, if ever you were going to hear it, now is the time. He is basically in his retirement phase, and just plays a lot of classics when he goes out now.

He may throw in southern sun or greece 2000, but no way he'll ever spin anything like Man with no name or old astral projection, just not happening (as much as I'd love to hear some of that old stuff). I've seen some oakie sets come up online and the tracklistings seems to have the same formula over and over: random tracks from perfecto that he is only playing because they are on his label, electrance songs which are not my thing at all, classics played for the 1 billionth time and last of all, EDM remixes of rock songs which sound about as good as a dieing donkey. I'm all for old oakie like his GU's, EM's pre 2002 and his mid 90's compilations. Seeing him today is just a waste of money for me.

Have fun to anyone who goes (especially you bobby :p). Cheers.

his ability to beatmatch (or lack thereof) is possibly the strangest footnote in the history of dance music...

WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT

How the hell is that happening? How about all those live sets pre 20002 that were so legendary, the EMs?? I heard decent mixing on those...only time I hadn't was when I've seen him live here...

I never forget how he chose Skank Honto as the winner @ system
