first time i saw Oakey was waaay back like 2001/2 it was at guv when the booth was up to where the lighting/visual booth is. I remember that night so well! Loved every second of it and there was this one time this drunk guy comes barreling across and jumps on the huge speakers guv has. He climbs to the very top with a smoke in his mouth and starts dancing at the very top! I couldn't believe it! probably one of the craziest things I've seen at guv.

Nah, even the old stuff can be pretty bad. If you listen to gatecrasher from 1999 (probably his best set ever, where is RJ?), its pretty dodgy.
He compensated by doing very quick one or two bar transitions, but he made that part of his sound. Since he knew how to mix in phase really well, it didn't hurt his sets too much.

I remember that, he was a scary looking dude, and had this really creepy tune that he always whistled. I think he got banned after that, but I saw him again last year, and he was whistling that tune again, that's how I knew it was him. I got the away from him real quick.

It was on the flyer that I saw but things can change I guess. It also doesn't say if there is anyone opening. I'm assuming that this is Smirnoff renting out the Guv for their own party as opposed to a spin saturday night with Mark Oliver and the lot. Shaya, feel free to dash in on this if I'm wrong. :p |

Also as the guy above said if Smirnoff is renting it out, does this mean we have to buy tickets in advance or will it be like a regular Saturday at the guv???? |

IT was on the ticket master website that its 10-2....I think that is just standard on the website. |
