i don't think Peyton Manning made a mistake. Sure Porter ran that back for a pick 6, but that wasn't Manning's fault. Porter read that route perfectly, and jumped the route. That was all about film study and knowing how to play the route. you play to win the game.
As for their final drive, yeah they let a good number of seconds drain when they should have called a timeout, but knowing the Colts offense and their ability to move the chains quickly, he could have scored a touchdown with about 45-50 seconds left, get the onside kick, and drive 50+ yards with 2 timeouts in less than 40 seconds. that's enough time for him.
he played a very good game taking away some knit picky plays here and there. it's too bad we have to compare his very good game against brees's perfect game. |

No. Peyton made a mistake. Let's call what it is. Reading the route correctly does not mean the QB did not make a mistake. Film study? Nobody studies more film than Peyton Manning. It was a timing mistake between him and his receiver. It happens.
Anyway, congrats to the Saints. They had a hell of a run this year. |
