how do you think i feel having to live through that the first 25 years of my life? :( it was so bad during the early 90s and early 2000s. unfortunately it went media mainstream due to the Saints success this season.

now i have to live through "hook 'em". :(

I know it's extremely hard for you to refrain yourself, but don't get idiotic.

yeah that interception was stupid, imagine if i didn't work and the colts scored on that play?

:p

It's apples and oranges, and you know that Jay. There's a huge difference between throwing a bad pass and deciding to do an onside kick with 30 minutes left on the clock, when you're only down by 4 points.

have you ever played football before woscar?

madden does not count:p

calling an onside kick with 30 minutes left and only down by a few happens more often than you might believe.

How many Saints games have you watched this year?

If it is a lot...you would know that Sean Payton has an aggressive approach to coaching..and it is one of the biggest reasons the Saints had the success that they have this year.

I'm not some Md trance carcker here man...logic does not dictate slamming a coach for making a ballsy call that paid off unless you are butthurt about your team losing.

that, and i believe he's pulled that same play before earlier this year, so it should be even less surprising coming from the saints

After reading some of his post game comments, the move was even more brilliant than i thought. When watching film of the Colts during kickoffs, they noticed that the blockers would cheat to give the returner better blocking coverage.

Basically they saw a weakness in the Colts game and used it to their advantage. I dunno...sounds pretty smart to me.

That onside kick was ing gay. People are only praising it because it worked. If it hadn't, and the Colts scored on that drive it might have been remembered as one of the stupidest plays in Super Bowl history.

the only way the saints could beat the colts is if they could ice peyton manning. it was clear after the first half they weren't going to get that done with blitz packages. the onside kick was a necessary change in strategy, entirely unexpected, and allowed the saints to finally get their offensive unit into gear. it worked at getting the saints offense online, not at just putting up some points.

i was waiting for some of those saints "remember me" hits...
im not going to deny the effectiveness of that onside kick, but when i saw it i wanted to throat punch someone.

Now that the dust has settled, here are a few of my thoughts:

1) The Saints are finally no longer an underachieving team. We've been saying for years how offensively loaded they are [their scouts need a raise, btw]. But they were missing a defense which inspired fear. Now they have it. Adding Sharper & Jabari Greer in the offseason and Porter & Vilma in 2008 will help you do that. Also, the hiring of Gregg Williams was key. They can easily win a couple more rings. They have the talent. On both sides of the field now.

2) Nobody has done more with less than Peyton Manning has this year. Getting the worst rushing team in the league along with no Anthony Gonzalez all year long AND two unproven receivers to the Super Bowl Bowl is ridiculous. Not enough people are talking about this, in my opinion. That team is 5-11 without him. He embodies what every NFL player should be - unbelievably dedicated, respectful, consummate teammate, and humble. I'd like to see him win at least one more ring. He is good for the NFL when so many are not.

3) Kim Kardashian is still a whore.
