Question about the scene in the Tampa area (if there is one)

I'm just curious because I noticed that the major club venues are 18+, how is the scene?

Is it a bunch of kiddies running around with their eyes popping out of their skulls or is it that people are there for the music? What's the average age of the people that go?

I'm wondering because I've never gone out in the area and was thinking about checking out Ferry @ The Venue on the 19th...

Thanks.

I really dig the whole tampa scene and crew... Not sure about The Venue but there is alot of cool people who support Ferry so it should be fun... :tongue2 :toocool:

Cool, but what are the demographics that usually make up the crowd?

Is it mostly kids who just turned 18 or people that are a little bit older and musically-educated?

To me, the crowd is what makes the event so I want to know what I'm in for if I decide to attend.

Well, having never been the The Venue, but reading reviews and stuff on yelp etc. It seems like The Venue draws an older crowd. The word "COUGAR" came up frequently in the reviews lol...But that is just regular weekend stuff - I'm thinking Ferry will be different, and probably in a good way.

I hope not. I find cats disdainful.

SNATCH is a biweekly party at Hyde Park Cafe run by Three (and others). Its continually the best party in Tampa.

As for the scene - go out and make it better if you're worried about it. Seriously every show is different here. I would say the demographic is according to the venue. THE VENUE itself just started the bigger shows (because Santoro finally got run out of The Kennedy/HPC) so who knows. When he started shows a few years back at Green Iguana they brought in Ferry, Benassi, etc and it was a mixture of older crowd, trendy crowd, bros, and the young crowd. This being in Largo I expect it to be more of the fans and some trendy as well.

Cool. I've never been out in the area due to the fact that I've just relocated close by so I wanted to know what to expect prior to actually checking it out.

Thanks for the information.

Venue typically is a mixed bag. I think the club itself has a great layout and I'm unsure of why they haven't booked talent sooner. I'm anticipating a crowd that's up for Ferry and a good night, should be good times. So glad I don't have to walk into The Kennedy again.
