Very well...
After she left, I immediately called my boss. I told him that this woman had come to my office asking for money, and that I had asked her whether she had obtained permission to go about the office soliciting donations (she hadn't).
I told him that when I told her that I thought her behavior was inappropriate, she become hysterical and threatened me.
Later, she predictably complained about me to her supervisor, who contacted me directly to inquire about the incident. I told him the same story, and that I had already reported it to my boss (who was also his boss). The three of us met the next day, and I was able to convince both of them of my version of the events. The woman was told that she would be let go if she caused any more trouble.
She didn't make it through her next performance review. I suspect she wouldn't have been retained in any event, as the low quality of her work certainly merited dismissal, but it's possible that my scheming was a factor as well. |
