I was just walking home in this really hot day,that you just wanna get to your place and drink something really cool,when i came across an old aged man,holding his head,dressed with winter clothes(jacket)-a beggar i'm sure i've seen before.He had a really depressed expression on his face and it kinda looked like my father,and so many thoughts came to my mind,what if he was my father,how would i feel?
Just think on it,how bad this whole world has turned,how does this man feel and every man like him... |

Well, with regards to the original post and the "Reloop" quote, yes I agree, society, as a whole, is deluding itself into a false and unwarranted sense of security. Things are getting progressively more ed as we continue to ignore them.
I've been reading some articles from this site recently, which I think has something to do with this discussion, so feel free to peruse it at your pleasure (or don't, see if I care):

| Once I walked by this beggar on the street and she was just sitting on the ground, and her head was shaking from side to side, probably uncontrollably. I gave her $10 and when I walked away, I started crying. I just thought that its so unfair, why is she like that and I'm living such a good life, good as in I have a home and food on the table... :( |

this subject reminds me of thread someone posted about how much he hates his family (which seemed a little sour grapes). While it true that your family can piss you off, they are really an important center to your life and you shouldnt take them for granted.
My point being, many of these street people for one reason or another have hit hard times and dont have a family to turn to. Friends come and go but family is one of the constants in our lives. |
