Well... since its so god damn hard to find psyprog releases, Im making a thread dedicated to it (I searched, could not find another).

Some good psyprog releases:

VA - Sunset Delights [IONO Music]
VA - Progressive Beats [Audioload Music]
Vibrasphere - Lungs of Life [Tribal Vision]

Anyone know of any other good albums/compiliations/eps with any good tunes?

Oh man, haha, right up my alley. There are plenty of good progressive psytrance artists to check out. However, please be advised that a vast majority of prog-psy tracks either have no substance, progress to nothing, or sound the same as everything else. You will have to do a lot of digging to find good stuff, but here are some artists you should enjoy.

Liquid Soul, Freq, Sun Control Species, Gaudium, Visua, Suntree, Ovnimoon, Zyce, Flegma, Human Blue, Zen Mechanics, Ace Ventura, Vibrasphere, Aerospace, Earsugar, Symphonix, and Perfect Stranger.

For darker stuff, try things from Zenon's label. Beware, some of it doesn't really fall into the prog-psy category, as it can become quite techno-ish at times. Click my sig for a showcase of some of their best tracks :)

What the thread is about is closer to house than trance. Yes it has some tranceish elements but the BPM is lower and the tracks are actually indeed "progressive". If they were not progressive... well... it would just be boring slow trippy music that goes no where. The song structure is much closer to house than trance also.

And those two comps are amazing :D. My favorite track from them is probably Andrenaline by Liquid Soul.

What? You're trying to tell me that it's not actually called progressive psytrance, but instead it's called psy progressive house? It's not house, and it's not trance. It's progressive psytrance. Not progressive housepsy.

Please don't try to lecture me on this subject ;)

No no no, some tracks resemble house more than trance but still have the "progressive psytrance" trippy elements in them. There are a trillion threads about progressive psytrance, not much attention is payed to the slower more houseish structured tracks. Not saying you are wrong, I just don't know how to classify what I am looking for very well.

He's telling you that he likes this style of music but at 130 BPMs, the house speed..where as a lot of psy-trance is much faster.

Its not just the BPM here, its the progression of elements and structure of the song as well. The structure is closer to house than trance.

No problem, I was just saying that the proper term was progressive psytrance :p

Yes, there are plenty of prog-psy tracks that embody more of a house structure than a trance structure. There are a ton of tracks that fall into either style. Check out Domesticated's sets, he has at least 3 sets that have prog-psy with a house attitude. You should be able to find something you like there.

As far as the BPM is concerned, most prog-psy is in the 128ish-138ish range, so I understand where you are coming from, trust me. The slower stuff generally has a house flavor, and the faster has a trance flavor. I'm not that stupid, guys :p
