just impulse bought tickets to rome

has anyone been? any suggestions what to check out besides the obvious, any good hotels that are cheap but not a roach warren?
me and my buddy have a pretty good idea i was just curious if any ballers here had some suggestions.
leaving this friday, going for 5 days. got a super cheap deal. |

i think i've visited most of europe & i have to say Rome was my favorite city. it's so metropolitan & i loved walking through streets knowing that the romans had walked through there and touching roman ruins.
the Colosseum is amazing. you get out of the subway and i remember the blinding light and then realizing it was right in front of me. eat as much gelato as you can :p paninis and pizza are alksjdflkahg so good.
just have a good time and bring lots of euro.
if you can, try to go to Pisa, the leaning tower is badass haha |

Feeling guilty about asking my dad for the money to do it. I only got like 5 or 6 grand in savings... and well... not really responsible to go blowing it on a trip. :p
I shouldn't feel bad. My brother is going back to Japan for another year on my dads dime. . He'll have been in that country almost 30 months in the last 4 years. :wtf: Oh and add a month in China on there too. :whip:
My dad is going to France and Germany this summer, they got a chateau on the French coast for a few weeks. I should just tag along and wander off. |

exactly. I'd invested my money with my brother to help him out and then my dad says 'oh im thinking of going to canada to see him' and I jokingly say 'pay for me and i'll go' and he says 'sure'... pretty surprised how easy it was but im gonna do 5-6 weeks and he'll only do 2 so I get to spend quality time with my bro & sis-in-law as well as only having to pay for my food/exploration costs. win :p |

Sweet mate, I'm jealous. I could really do with 5-6 weeks in Canada. Don't suppose you'd swing by Brisbane on the way, and stash me in your luggage? :p |
