Sometimes it's worth it just for that though.

Of the Studio Ghibli films I've seen, here's how I could rate them in order:

1) Porco Rosso

(significant gap)

2) Nausicaa & The Valley of the Wind
3) Pom Poko
4) Princess Mononoke
5) Howl's Moving Castle
6) Grave of the Fireflies
7) My Neighbor Totoro

Porco was the first one I saw, and they have gotten progressively worse after that. I haven't seen all the Ghibli films but I don't think any of them will be as good as Porco- in that movie, the characters, animation, lines, music, plot, etc., was amazing.

Most overrated Ghibli film so far has to be Grave of the Fireflies. Howl's Moving Castle I couldn't understand what the was going on. Totoro had no plot at all...

what about Castle In The Sky? they're all nice

Totoro I think was somewhat meant to be very playful and fun and no serious at all.

It was played as a double feature with Grave of the Fireflies.

GotF is by far one of the most depressing and sad movies I have ever seen.

It wasn't that sad for me since I couldn't get over the overall stupidity of the main character (I forgot his name).

***SPOILERS***

Like for example he waited until his younger sister was practically dead before going to his grandparents house to get her some food. If food was there in the first place, then why did he wait so long?

Ponyo was a load of ing rubbish. The animation was nice, but the storyline, script and characters were all completely gash. The storyline made absolutely no sense. As a great man once said: "I've pissed more coherent patterns in the snow."

The worst part was HAAAM!
