Newegg order for around $850.00. Assembled in about 3-4 hrs.
Never have any problem with AMD - is fast, really fast. Whatever I throw on this baby, barely go to 20% of processor load (incl. OmniSphare) - love it.

Cheers

I thought AMD had lost the CPU race and wasn't a real contender anymore. I don't keep track of all the latest CPU buzz so please correct me if i'm mistaken.

A warping post!! ;)

They're a bit behind but also a bit cheaper.

What really counts for me is the CPU load on my computer and AMD is doing this job well. You are right about race to Intel but for cheaper price you can still buy really nice processor.

Cheers

Thanks G. - I spend some time to test run some config with different components and this one was the best for the price.

Cheers buddy.

I agree

My Athlon does me OK.

Even though i'm just ordering some Intel stuff

I forgot to add that we are using Windows Server 64 bit with some OS small registry changes to shift audio/multimedia priority to high.

Hey guys, I will also be buying a nu PC in the upcoming month, I will mainly be using it for production i FL studio without MIDI or anything external (At least for the upcoming year or so), was wondering if you can help me a bit with some technical insight:

First of, what's the difference between a soundcard and a sound interface? For some reason I understand it's 2 alternatives to assembling a PC and that an interface is an external component or something?

Anyways my main concern is that my current gamer PC starts accumulating underruns pretty damn quick in FL studio and it's a solid PC - dual core 2 GB DDR etc. so I guess it's just missing some magic producers' component...?

My budget for this is 1000-1200 US$ (no monitor or speakers needed) - Does that change any components from the suggestion Trancelover gave?

Oh yeah and Trancelover, can you tell me how to tweak WinOS to prioritize audio up the scale?

Thanks for any help, very appreciated!

Same here. I thought AMD had been completely left behind?

I don't know what you mean. I don't think you know what you mean. It's worrying. YOu're about to pull the trigger on $1000 worth of "high standard" production gear and you're not getting the most basic of terms right.

That deal you got TL007 is pretty damn good - where is that from?

Yeah, this thread was done just last week.

And AMD are certainly not future proof. Quad core i7 or GTFO of the studio. I'd rather get an i7 and use integrated graphics while saving for a decent card rather than buying some cheaper AMD.

my main concern is cpu cycles

really good value for this quad core AMD at 3.4 ghz each chip that easily OC to 3.7 - That's some power right there
