Perhaps now would be the time to start shopping for a new keyboard.
You'd only be doing me a favor. :stongue: |

I have 2 pairs of the HD280 Pros that we use for tracking (primarily vocals). They're great for that because they have a ton of presence, vocals really come through, and they have good isolation for minimizing spillback into the mic. But, as rulzz mentioned, they aren't the most comfortable for extended wear IMO and they can become quite fatiguing to the ears, particularly at high listening levels. I would check out some of the cheaper Sennys for listening to CDs - they're usually more comfortable IME. Overall, I prefer my BeyerDynamics DT880s for mixing and listening - he might want to see what they offer in consumer-grade headphones. |

| mdr-7506 with the big cans! I'll be ordering (another) pair soon. My first with the big cans. Friend of mine who uh, "writes" for somebody owns 8 pairs of them. Lolo (no he isn't the writer) loves the MDR-7506's and uses them to help reference as well. So not only do they serve as a respectable monitoring source for production, they will most certainly appease your appetite for listening. I'll probably never use any other headphone for the rest of my life for casual listening. |

I'm seriously starting to think my pair are ed or something.
I cannot stand theses headphones for anything. Ridiculously bright, stereo image, and sound stage in general, shoddy mids and bass. They ing suck, on every level. |

I love you :)
I remeber playing out a few times on my 7506's. And then one day I took over my mate who was using Technics 1210 headphones, and I just thought, it, I'll use these. Man it was unreal. They were so much better, then my naive girlfriend bought me some Sony 700's for my birthday (I have no idea why, so don't ask) and I though, oh jesus. Theses are gonna suck. But you know what? I use them over my 7506's any day.
I have owned and used many high end Sennheisers too, and seriously have to say the mdr 7506's are the worst heapdhone I have ever owned when you factor price in. They will however get props for build quality, and for retro cool looks. Otherwise, they suck bollocks. |

| yeah the 700 is somewhat better, but that plastic construction and moveable parts easily break and u gonna get tinnitus from them. watch out! i had them before and luckily i broke them before they broke me. |

I am more than aware of the swivel joint issue they have had for like a decade. Plus it's shiny plastic Sony stuff, so I expected the worst. They are rather pleasant however. |

Are you taking the ing piss?
The 700s are ing dire in almost every way imaginable. They are heavy, brittle, the highs are as harsh as and the ear pads actually push against your ears making them massively uncomfortable.
LP7 have you tried any other pairs of 7506s other than yours? I think you might have a dud pair. Granted, they will never be good for production as they just make everything sound good but I love mine for general listening for that very reason. |

My mate has a pair yeah, I've never A/Bed them, but when I did use his, I didn't notice a massive difference.
And no I'm not taking the piss about the 700s. Aside from the build, they are alright, far better than I'd have thought. But I don't think I'd ever buy myself a pair.
I find the highs on the 7506 unimaginably brighter than the 700's and so my mixes on them are always dull.
Incidentally you mentioned the 7506s are for producing, yet, that is what all the fan boys here use them for. not once in my 3/4 years of owning them have i ever produced something that translates well, I have made plenty on the 700's in the few months I have had them that translate well.
At 2 am the other night for example I made this using only Windows system sounds...
Solid kick made from the windows balloon notification sound...

I honestly reckon I couldn't get anywhere near as good on my 7506's.
For general listening my Sennheiser 580's kick 7506's sorry ass.
Not meaning to rip on anyone who likes them hear, but I honestly cannot understand their hype. |
