| The only FX I really use these days are a slow reverb build (to build anticipation) and a little bit of Traktor beatmasher (subtle, though... I don't try to make it sound glitchy and crazy, just use it to repeat a beat once at the end of a phrase every great once in a while.) |

filters and delays are the only thing you really need |
I use echo quite a bit, if you transition and have to cut vocals or a melody you don't get a harsh cut off.
I use delay almost never, I can't seem to find a situation where it doesn't sound like . I'm probably not using it right.
Pioneer 2000 doesn't look too bad, although I probably would rather get a xone , the 4 eq = FTW.
Buy it here now? in stock?

I see a lot of annoying white noise effects in our future.

$2000 Toy. I can't wait until I hear six FX over each track. really. I can't wait.
I think I'd prefer to drown my phone in LSD and rave to it's final sonic overdose.
but "-0.004 total harmonic distorion" and "pioneer mixer" in the same sentence?
ha
haha
HAHAH

| Six effects? Why would you ever need that many. How about leaving the music the way it was recorded? Hell, I don't even use that many in live sound. |

Which part of the joke didn't you get:
"pioneer" and "0.04% total harmonic distortion"
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Cracks me up everytime. Maybe when it's switched off.
Seriously, a lot of audiophile amps don't offer figures that good.
Pioneer have done some good things, like their excellent CDJ's or bringing FX to the masses for cheap, but sound quality is simply not one of their fortes.
Vestax, Excler, Rane and Allen and Heath are all above pioneer in those stakes.
btw, I'm a qualified service tech for all those brands. |

Vestax? Seriously? From my experience, all Vestax mixers I used sound like . Specially the 05 & 07. Ecler, Rane & A&H, yeah, but Vestax? No way. |

Ever used one that you'd compare to those in the same price range?
The 05 is $280 and the 07 $400. C'mon now Woody. Pioneer don't even make a mixer that cheap. And that's forgetting the fact both of those are entry level battle mixers, not house or install mixers where there's more a focus on sonic quality.
Try a Vestax 500 or a 580, then come back here and tell me that a pioneer sounds better. No chance.
Cox aint no fool. |
